about

The 3rd and final volume contains tracks which were produced between June 1991 and May 1992. We are already on the road to Electric Orange. Totally different to the previous „Brainwaves“, less berlin-school inspired tracks, no synths noodling, more guitar, krautrock and psychedelic sounds.

Track 6-10 were first released in April 1992 on a very limited selfmade Tape release called "Time Signals" and several months later (with one track replaced) on the british label "Electronical Dreams" run by Clive Littlewood, professionally produced with a coloured insert.

After "Brainwaves" a highspeed Revox A77 was added to my equipment, so the recording quality improved here and further I could use Mellotron Samples on an Akai S700 Sampler. The recordings were still done the old way, bouncing between the two tape machines.

Equipment used: Korg MS20, Roland SH-1000, Moog Prodigy, Akai S700, Hohner String Melody II, Siel Orchestra 2, Squier Stratocaster, Fender Jazz Bass, 12-Channel mixer, Dynacord DRS78, Vera S-1024 Digital Delay, Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48K, Revox A77, Akai GX-215D.

seventy three (June 1991)
short and sweet guitar tune from the tapes of the Brainwaves sessions, which wasn't used. Fits much better here, than on Brainwaves

Brainechoes (August 1991)
Double guitar echo experiment. Mastered from a cassette.

the orange sequence (November 1991)
This originally appeared in early 1992 on the compilation "Pathways to Illusion". This was recorded live direct to Revox A77 with the help of a sampled guitar loop on the Akai S700. Many bad parts edited out.

time travel (December 1991)
Sequence done with Sinclair Spectrum and Korg MS20, the drums were played by Dieter Pütz, recorded in his rehearsal room with 2 UHER Microphones and a selfmade artificial head direct to Stereo, Akai GX-215D Tape Machine. First appeared in 1992 on "Syntonic Waves Vol.2" Compilation.

organ blues (March 1992)
Found on the tapes of the Time Signals sessions.

time machine (November 1991)
One of my favourites of this era. Classic 1970s sounding electronic music.

beyond time (May 1992)
3 guitars, echoes and synthstrings. For my taste, the best guitar tune I recorded back then. This track replaced the really bad track „Pulsar“, which appeared on the first edition of the cassette.

waltz of a 1000 years (May 1992)
A difficult tune, I never was happy with. Some bad parts were edited out. Fake Rhodes from the Akai Sampler. This is the 3rd recorded version. The first version from february appeared on the first edition of the cassette.

time echoes (February 1992)
Sampled Mellotron, Hohner Organ sounds and some guitar. The Nick Mason drumloop, which I used on the original tape was removed here for copyright reasons. The original title was "psychedelic nightmare", but Clive Littlewood suggested "time"-themed titles for the tracks of the cassette release.

time signals (January 1992)
The drums were played by Dieter Pütz again, recorded at the same day as „time travel“. This track already appeared in 2017 on the electric orange compilation "time machine". It's the same version, mastered by eroc.
